Reskin Your World: Minecraft Texture Packs
The video game Minecraft is a lush, colorful, and delightfully retro game. One of the great things about Minecraft on the PC is the ability to change the overall look and feel of the world. Downloading and installing a texture pack is a great way to enhance your Minecraft gaming experience. If you’re bored of the overworld’s graphics in Minecraft, you can load texture packs into the game to change the scenery. Go here to learn how to load a texture pack. There is currently no way to add texture packs to the mobile game version of Minecraft.
Do to the constanly changing nature of Minecraft, with all of it’s updates and the changing nature of the game, we’re now going to be picking and adding new texture packs to this list, but some will get moved down to the bottom in the “discontinued” section. Let’s face it: working on a texture pack as an author is a long and often-demanding process and not everyone has the time to keep up with all the newly added features to Minecraft over time. Some authors have abandoned their work, but the version in which is currently works with still looks awesome, so while we aren’t going completely dismiss this, the pack is going to be moved down to the bottom where it can hang out and if you are interested, you can check it out and install it to see how it feels, even on the current version of Minecraft; you just won’t be able to see any of the new blocks in game (often times they will appear at bright pink or grey blocks in the game).
Make sure to install any HD (High Definition) texture packs using the Minecraft Mod MCPatcher. If you don’t use this, your HD texture pack will look strange in game and often times, the text will look incorrect, be off centered, or not even there at all.
Here’s a selection of the best texture packs, hand-picked for your convenience. We’re going to be adding more texture packs here. Feel free to leave a comment below on any texture packs you would like to see listed here.

Some packs are bright and vibrant, looking very different from the overall background of the default kit that comes with Minecraft. Others are more subtle, but you might find that you like these more and more as you use them. The featured texture packs are broken down into a couple different categories:
